Generic Lipitor (Atorvastatin, Lipitor® equivalent)
Lipitor is a prescription medication used along with an overall diet plan in order to lower the patient's level of cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart attack. It has been proven to help reduce patients' LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels significantly, as well as help in maintaining the low levels in the long term. Lipitor belongs to a class of medications known as statins, which work by blocking an enzyme in the liver that is used in the production of LDL ("bad") cholesterol. The body then produces less LDL, and the level of LDL cholesterol in the blood decreases.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FLEXIBILITY: INJURY PREVENTION FOR VICTIMS OF LOWER-BACK PAIN
Not all sufferers of lower-back pain have bone or disk disorders. In fact, the problem for most individuals involves muscles, tendons, or ligaments. No single cause can be isolated that triggers an episode of back pain. Some of the more common factors include physical injury, hard sneezing or coughing, improper lifting or bending, standing or sitting for long hours, sitting slumped in overstuffed chairs or automobile seats, tension, anxiety, and depression, obesity, and disease (for example, arthritis and tumors). Some individuals merely have a genetically weak back involving one or more of the approximately 140 muscles that provide support to the back and control its movements. Typically, a muscle, ligament, or tendon strain or sprain causes nearby muscles to spasm to help support the back. It is estimated that 7 out of 10 problems are due to the improper alignment of the spinal column and pelvic girdle caused by inflexible and weak muscles.
Prevention and treatment require similar action and may involve changing the way you stand, bend, lift objects, sit, rest, sleep, and exercise.
For most victims of lower-back pain, treatment involves one to three days of bedrest on a firm mattress supported by plywood, moderate application of heat and cold, and gentle massage until muscle spasms are eliminated or significantly reduced. Once this occurs, use a series of daily exercises, that are designed to strengthen the four key muscle groups supporting your back and important abdominal muscles. Three other components are needed to complete your rehabilitation and prevention program: exercising more, decreasing your stomach fat by reducing your caloric intake, and continuing to do lower-back exercises daily in addition to 30 minutes of aerobic activity three to four days a week after recovery. Only rarely is surgery needed to correct lower-back problems.
